It’s been bucketing down with rain all morning, yet all four chickens have been blithely pottering around the pen for most of it.\u00a0 Truly, their ways are not our ways.<\/p>\n

And then Vi seized the opportunity to mount a third daring escape attempt, and this time I was able to grab my camera before shooing her back into the pen.\u00a0 Her new friend flew off as soon as I’d got close enough to be a perceived threat, leaving Vi to wobble unsteadily for a few seconds before making a fairly ungainly descent to rejoin her fellow chickens.\u00a0 We’re making every effort to keep them safe from foxes, but she’s not doing herself any favours.<\/p>\n
